Rick Sperling

Mosaic’s founder and CEO, Rick Sperling has over 25 years experience in the dramatic arts and developing educational theatre programs for young artists.  Prior to founding Mosaic, Rick was the Director of the Attic Theatre’s Education and Outreach Ensemble.

 Rick earned a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College.  Following college, he worked with Brazilian dramatist, August Boal; Master Mime, Tony Montonoaro; British Drama Educator, Cecily O’Neill; and as Assistant Director and Consultant for the Tony Award winning San Francisco Mime Troupe.

In 2004 Rick was awarded the “Lee Hills Career Achievement Award” from the Detroit Free Press for his exemplary work with Mosaic.  In 2002, he was recognized by the Wayne County Council for Arts, History and Humanities for his “Outstanding Contribution to the Arts” in Wayne County.
