A Letter to Mosaic Parents,

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is about time, love, and support. Most important things are. Time is life and it should be spent doing things you love with good people.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is a commitment to get your artist to rehearsals and performances, wherever they might be, ON TIME. It's a commitment to pick your artist up ON TIME from rehearsals and performances even though they might be late and didn't, because they couldn't, call from their cell phone because they were on stage. It's a commitment to get them what they “need” for that audition or show.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is managing your time and reinforcing time management with your child/artist. It is reminding them that chores must be done, homework and studying must be done, and sleep in reasonable amounts daily must happen.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is communicating with your child/artist. It's asking how rehearsals are going, probing for structure, the routine, and listening to the answer so you know what “normal” is for them. It's also asking questions and accepting short answers sometimes, acknowledging their stress, and encouraging them to do your best and to then let go. It's letting go and just being supportive and loving. It's just being there.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is expressing my concerns to Mosaic staff.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is enjoying conversations and networking with other parents. It's talking about everything, learning and sharing problems and solutions to meals, driving, and education. It's spending time with good people.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is offering to help wherever you can to give back to Mosaic which gives so much to our children. It's working with good people.

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is being proud of your child and all the artists' talents and growth in their craft. It's enjoying every performance like a graduation.

It's laughing. It's being brought to tears by the spirit present in our children when they perform.

It's being thankful for this blessing.

It's enjoying the fruits of our labor

Being a MOSAIC PARENT is knowing my child is spending her time wisely and so am I.
