Mosaic Corporate Partner Masco Corporation Honored for its Exceptional Arts Support
Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit corporate partner, Masco Corporation was recently named to “THE BCA TEN: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America,” sponsored by the Business Committee for the Arts, Inc. (BCA) and FORBES Magazine. Masco was recognized for its work with Detroit-area arts organizations like Mosaic.
For years Masco has been a generous supporter of Mosaic. After making a $50,000 pledge to Mosaic’s “Imagine Their Next Step” Capital Campaign in 2004, Masco, in a surprise move, increased its original pledge by $75,000 on the last day of the Campaign in 2007 in order to ensure that Mosaic would successfully quality for a $50,000 matching grant awarded by the Kresge Foundation.
Because of Masco’s long-standing commitment to its most important mission, Mosaic was only too happy to nominate the Taylor, Michigan-based company for the “THE BCA TEN: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America,” honor.
Initiated by BCA in 2005, “THE BCA TEN” recognizes ten companies annually for their exceptional support of the arts in the United States. The other companies on “THE BCA TEN” for 2007 are: The Boeing Company, Chicago, IL, The Boldt Company, Appleton, WI, Deutsche Bank, New York, NY, Gibson Guitar Corp., Nashville, TN, McQuiddy Printing Company, Nashville, TN, QUALCOMM Incorporated, San Diego, CA, Shell Exploration & Production Company, Houston, TX, Shugoll Research, Bethesda, MD, The Travelers Companies, Inc., St. Paul, MN.
