Intermediate Training Program

Mosaic Youth Theatre Intermediate Training Program
2005 marked the first year of Mosaic's Intermediate Training Program (ITP).   The Mosaic ITP is designed as an intensive seven-month training program, modeled on the main Ensemble Program, where 11-16 year-olds can acquire the necessary skills and develop the professionalism and maturity that are a pre-requisite for Mosaic's main Ensemble Program.

The ITP runs September through April. The ITP is considered preparatory training for the main Ensemble Program and young people in the ITP are held to similar standards of behavior and attendance.

Young people in the ITP perform for Elementary and Middle School Audiences in the metro Detroit area during the Mosaic Metro Tour and also participate in bi-annual Education Department Showcases in December and April.

The Mosaic Beginning Training Program at Youthville
YouthVille is a large-scale youth development center on the corner of Woodward and W. Grand Boulevard that opened in Summer of 2005 to serve 11-19 year-olds from the Detroit area. For an annual $25 fee, young people can join YouthVille, where they have access to computer labs, gym equipment, tutoring and a variety of free classes including Mosaic Beginning Acting and Vocal Music classes.

The YouthVille classes are an explorative, non-competitive, safe environment for potential young artists to grow. Each session at YouthVille culminates with a performance for family and friends.YouthVille Instructors can recommend that students be advanced to the Intermediate Training Program.

To register for Mosaic classes at YouthVille, simply come to class during the first week of the fall, winter, spring or summer session.
