Imagine Their Next Stage

Mosaic is a national model for youth development through the arts, an internationally-acclaimed performance company, and a cultural treasure for metropolitan Detroit.  Now you have a chance to help make sure that Mosaic will be around to serve talented young Detroiters for generations to come.

Imagine Their Next Stage is a $3.5 million comprehensive campaign providing long-term program funding, stable training facilities and a prestigious performance venue.

The campaign is co-chaired by former Detroit Mayor Dennis W. Archer and Dennis Archer, Jr.  The campaign committee members are Reuben Munday, Matthew Cullen, Linda Gillum and Robert Riney.

The Imagine Their Next Stage campaign includes:

  • $1.7 million Fund for Mosaic’s Future insures stable facilities and venues for the next ten years and beyond.  It includes the $300,000 Exceptional Opportunities Fund for special short-term needs such as international travel. 
  • $950,000 for improvements to the Detroit Institute of Arts main auditorium and additional costs of the DIA partnership, providing Mosaic with an 1100-seat performance venue for 10 years. (FUNDED)
  • $555,000 for Mosaic’s new state-of-the-art training facility at the General Motors Mosaic Theatre on the campus of University Prep High School.  (FUNDED)
  • $75,000 for technology upgrades. (FUNDED)
  • $220,000 for campaign planning and implementation. (FUNDED)

Mosaic has successfully brought in more than $2.9 Million of commitments to the campaign. These commitments have come from the following sources:

• Masco Corporation Foundation - - - $50,000
• DTE Energy Foundation - - - $50,000
• Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan - - - $50,000
• Comerica Incorporated - - - $35,000
• Robert C. Larson - - - $30,000
• John Bourbeau - - - $25,000
• Julie and Peter Cummings - - - $25,000
• Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan - - - $25,000
• Mosaic Alumni Members - - - $7,000
• Mosaic Staff Members - - - $5,000

Mosaic is in the final phase of the campaign.  Mosaic must bring in the final $1 million in pledges by February 1st, 2007 to meet the Kresge Foundation Challenge and receive a $500,000 gift from Kresge to finish the $3.5 million campaign.

Make a pledge now and help Mosaic receive the half million dollar gift from the Kresge Foundation. You can stretch the payment of your pledge over up to three years (For example, a $15,000 pledge could be paid $5,000 a year for three years)
