Mosaic Youth Theater holds its New Member Auditions once a year. See below for more details.
Auditions for Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit FREE performing arts training program are held once each year at Mosaic’s headquarters at 610 Antoinette, Detroit, MI 48201.
All auditions are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Mosaic recommends that young artists try to attend during the first two days of auditions and arrive early. There is a minimum fee per person due at the time of the audition.
ACTING COMPANY - Candidates must choose one of the following two options.
Option 1 - prepare and memorize a 1 minute monologue from a published play.
Option 2 - receive a monologue when you arrive for auditions. It does need to be memorized.
SINGERS - To audition for Vocal Performance prepare a 2 minute song to be sung a capella, meaning without musical accompaniment.
TECHNICAL CREW - Tech auditions consist of an individual interview and a process known as "Show & Tell." Candidates are asked to bring an original creation (drawing, painting, sculpture, woodwork, etc.) to present and will be asked questions about that original creation. The original work is not required at the audition.
The following information applies to all young people auditioning for Mosaic:
- Candidates may audition for more than one ensemble if they choose. In such a case, the auditions may be scheduled for the same day.
- Age requirements: Candidates must be between the ages of 11 and 18 or still enrolled in high school.
- A new audition is required for each new season.
